New Homes

A new home recently completed in Shelby County is an all brick Ranch house with a full basement. A three car garage finishes out the exterior. Inside the house there are three bedrooms, two and half baths, large kitchen with plenty of cabinets, open dining area with a great room. A beautiful gas fireplace shows off the great room.

This house is shown in the framing stages. It is a large two story with a three car garage. The exterior is partial brick and siding with a back covered patio. Quite a few windows highlight the entire back of the house. Interior framing shows the height of the two story great room.

Our 2004 Parade of Homes entry was a more traditional floor plan. It offered a separate kitchen, a separate dining room and a separate great room. The kitchen has an eating nook with the optional bar seating at the counter. In the great room it has a Custom hand laid fire place, an open stair case going to the lower level, patio doors that opens to a deck off the back of the house and French doors that open to a multi purpose room. The Master Suite has a bump out reading area; the adjoining bath has a whirlpool tub and separate shower also with a walk-in closet. This house also offers an upstairs laundry room, guest bath and two additional bedrooms. (Pictures to be dropped off.)

Remodeling / Basements

Here we took an older home and basically gutted the inside. The house was originally a two bedroom two bath ranch. After the remodel it is a two bedroom; two and half bath home. It has a large great room with the barrel ceiling and restored fireplace. The kitchen had to be completely gutted. It now has new Cherry Cabinets with a bar and a separate desk unit to match.

Finished basement in Jackson Center completed by Ahrens Custom Builders shows a gas fire place finished in cultured stone. An entertainment center finished out with cabinets and shelving. The old fashioned booths and bar stools were furnished by the home owner. The bar top, wine cabinet and extra cabinets along with the entertainment center were all furnished by Lima Building Supply out of Lima, Ohio.

Ahrens Custom Builders started with an existing older house in Sidney. They demolished parts of the house, remodeled existing parts and added additions to both sides of the house. A large dining room and kitchen were added. The dining room had two large windows installed, one which has a big round top to add more light. An island was added and two banks of cabinets. One bank featured some cabinets with glass doors. The new exterior view shows how the cultured stone was added to set off the additions.
